At Bit by Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, we rely on exceptional equine partners to deliver safe, effective, and meaningful experiences for children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. A horse donation is a special and generous way to contribute to our mission—and one that we take very seriously.
What We’re Looking For
We are currently accepting horses that meet the following criteria:
- Age: Preferably between 8 and 22 years old
- Temperament: Calm, patient, and willing disposition
- Soundness: Free of lameness or chronic health issues
- Training: Experience under saddle; ideally in arenas and around various riders
Each horse is evaluated for its suitability in a therapeutic environment. A 30- to 90-day trial period is typically required to ensure a successful match.
The Donation Process
- Submit Information: Complete our Horse Donation Inquiry Form to tell us more about your horse. You can print the form below.
- Initial Review: Our team will review the information and determine if your horse may be a good candidate.
- On-Site Evaluation: If there’s a good fit, we’ll arrange a visit to assess your horse’s health, temperament, and training.
- Trial Period: If accepted, your horse will enter a trial phase to ensure it thrives in our program.
- Final Donation: Upon successful completion of the trial, donation paperwork is finalized.
